The tool
A place to bring a decision before making it and so it doesn't get lost after it is made.
It helps you think. It doesn't decide, it doesn't answer for you and it knows nothing about your business until you tell it. It comes with the First Move and with the Diagnosis, continues through ongoing support and has its own user guide.
Why it exists
It stayed in a conversation, in a voice note, in someone's head. Six months later the same problem comes back. Nobody remembers what was already tried, or why it stopped.
It is lack of history. A hard decision almost never gets stuck for lack of data: it gets stuck for lack of memory of what was tried, and for lack of someone to think out loud with without explaining the business from scratch.
A recorded mistake becomes information. An unrecorded mistake becomes the same mistake again, in different clothes. With it comes the feeling that the business is stuck, when in fact it is going in circles.
Without history, every mistake is the first one. Forever.
What it is
The context doesn't come ready: you are the one who feeds it. You bring a concrete situation from your day to day. What comes back is the missing reading, together with the questions you hadn't asked yet.
The decision is still yours and it needs to be. With it, you decide knowing what is at stake.
The main practice: read everything before answering and write down your disagreements to the end. Thinking happens in the written disagreement. That is why it comes with a user guide and not just a link.
What gets recorded
Recording is not bureaucracy: it is what makes the second cycle faster than the first. That is why it is part of the method, not an extra.
What was chosen and what was discarded with it. The alternative that wasn't followed matters as much as the one that was.
What was actually done, and under which conditions. The plan on paper and the plan in practice are rarely the same thing.
What happened, including when it didn't work. Especially when it didn't work.
Where it comes in
The whole cycle is yours and happens in your business. But there are two points where almost everyone slips on their own. That is exactly where the Oracle is.
Record and preserve
How you get here
With the user guide, you can make good use of it without me. The difference shows up when I am in the ongoing support and guide how to use it: which questions to bring, at what moment, with what focus.
With direction, it stops being a resource and becomes method in practice. That is why access is not what holds the value here.
